CSA AGREEMENT

Community Supported Agriculture is an important relationship between both the farmer and customer. This connection is very different from just going to the store and buying produce. By being a part of this system, you are agreeing to take part in a fresh seasonal harvest straight from our farm to your table. Mother nature will to a small degree also be part of this relationship. By agreeing to be part of this beautiful system you are also agreeing to the fact that there may be slight variations in the quantities, and quality that can be harvested through out the season.

With your help and support we are excited to be growing the highest quality food we can. Each week on top of a box full of fresh produce you will also receive a news letter that includes recipes, storage tips, and stories from the farm. We believe that this connection is so integral to the community. We hope to meet and get to know all of our members. You are a part of the farm and we hope to have you out soon! Without you the farm doesn't matter!

When joining the CSA you are agreeing to these terms:

  • This 2024 season includes 25 weeks of fresh, naturally-grown produce, starting in April and ending in October. Our planned start week is the week of April 29, but mother nature might change that. There will be a one week break from deliveries in August.

  • Full Share - Our share price for a full share is $39 a week, which equals $975 for the season.

    • Each week's CSA box will typically contain 7-9 items, enough to feed 2-4 people, depending on how vegetable centric their diet is.

  • Half Share - Our share price for a half share is $22 a week, Which equals $550 for the season.

    • Each week's CSA box will typically contain 4-5 items, enough to feed 1-2 people.

  • When you sign up you are agreeing to pay for your share on time. You can pay for your entire share up front, (which helps the farm greatly!) or you can pay weekly with a starting deposit of one month before the first delivery. If a payment is missed we will notify you to discuss the issue and we will not deliver any more boxes until it is resolved.

  • If we produce a surplus of produce you will have an option to purchase at an additional cost.

  • If you need to put a vacation hold on your share or are unavailable for pick up for some other reason let us Know. You can have someone else pick up your share, or you can let us know no later than the Sunday before pick up and we will add a credit of $39 to your account. You can use this to buy surplus from the farm or you can request a double box later in the season.

  • If you don't put a vacation hold on your share your delivery will be forfeited. We will share the bounty with other members or you can also decide to donate to the local food pantry - St. Vincent DePaul

  • There will be a one week break in August where we will not be delivering, to help reset the farm. We will notify you the week before and you will not be charged for that week.

  • Your location will determine whether or not you will qualify for delivery. If you are out of our delivery range you will need to meet at a drop off location. Drop off locations will be set up once our member list is finalized.

  • Cancellations and refunds: If you are moving out of town or need to cancel your subscription we understand. We would hope you have a friend or family member take over your share but we do offer refunds on a prorated basis. Please email us at smirkingdogfarm@gmail.com to stop deliveries.
